SAFETY GUIDELINES
COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
At Hampden DuBose Academy, our staff and administration are committed to providing a safe and sound learning environment. We seek to take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety and development of our students. Therefore, all students are expected to know emergency procedures and adhere to all safety guidelines as outlined in this handbook.
SCHOOL CLOSINGS OR DELAYED OPENINGS
In the case of severe weather or other emergencies in which the school would be required to close, parents and guardians will be notified via text message, phone message and/or email.
If the Orange County Public Schools or Lake County Public Schools are closed (this is always broadcast on all of the local news stations) due to the threat of Hurricane or other significant weather occurrence, then Hampden DuBose Academy is automatically closed as well. There may be times that even if the Orange County Public Schools remain open that we will be required to be closed because of campus or transportation challenges. If this occurs, parents and guardians will be notified via text message, phone message and/or email. Always feel free to contact the school office if you have any questions.
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Emergency drills regulated by the county and state are practiced and reviewed regularly.
