Smoke Alarms: The batteries in the smoke alarms inside each unit MUST BE TURNED AROUND the correct way. They are stored in the smoke alarm backwards to ensure full charge capacity is available from time of occupancy. Further details and instructions on the smoke detection can be found in the relevant section of this website; Smoke Detection & Access Control.
Washing Machines: Please ensure you fasten the hose tightly with a hose clamp secured tightly as otherwise your waste hose may come off and cause major damage to your unit and possibly others below. Each laundry has a tub with an under bench unit adjacent to the washing machine opening. Holes have been pre-drilled to the side of the unit to allow the waste and water supply hoses for your machine to feed into the under tub unit, and connect to the washing machine cocks and to the waste stub on the trap beneath the tub. It is important you connect your waste hose to the stub that has a temporary cap on it, as this has been drilled out to allow water into the drain.
