CABINETRY

Your kitchen and bathroom joinery is a feature in your home, made from high tech quality products, that if cared for will last for many years. The hardware and finishes are manufactured to precise specifications and are very susceptible to damage is not taken care of. Although the cabinetry is constructed from moisture resistant board, it is not designed for repetitive wetting or continuous submersion, so to get the most out of your cabinetry, take care to avoid letting water run off the bench and on to the cupboards, and ensure any leaks or spills are not left to sit.

Below are some general cleaning tips and important things to avoid when caring for your cabinetry. Further information on cleaning, spare parts, maintenance of the various components that make up your cabinetry are able to be downloaded from the box below.

To clean and maintain your cabinetry -

• Clean up any spills as quickly as possible, and dry wipe immediately after cleaning to avoid swelling of the cabinetry;
• Remove soiled surfaces or light stains with mild detergent such as dishwashing liquid and damp sponge,
• For more stubborn stains, use a good quality streak free glass cleaner as per the manufacturers recommendation. Dry using a soft cloth so as not to leave any residue on the door or panel (Always ensure that you refer to the recommendations provided by the cleaning product manufacturer before use.);
• Overuse of chemical cleaners or failure to rinse remaining residue will eventually cause an unsightly build up on the finish;
• Do not use scourers, or abrasive or alkaline cleaners;
• Check, tighten and adjust hinges every 6 months; and
• Do not apply oil or grease to any joinery hardware, such as hinges, runners etc.

Cleaning Two Pack Doors

Two Pack doors should require no more than wiping with a soft cloth, dampened with warm soapy water (mild detergent). Finish with a soft dry cloth to remove streaks. For more stubborn marks, use a soft cloth with a quality spray and wipe type cleaner.

DO NOT use any of the following:

Commercial Cleaning Products, Abrasive Cleaners, Scouring Pads or Abrasive Papers, Acids and Alkalis, Solvents, Thinners, Turpentine (Turps), Ammonia, Bleach, Methylated Spirits, Acetone.

Hinges, Drawer Runners and Silent System Soft Closing Buffers -

It is recommended that hinges be maintained with a soft, dry cloth. Hinges can be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth but you must ensure the cloth does not contain any moisture. Hettich hinges are specially protected by a thin film of high grade oil that ensures its functionality and durability. This oil is necessary and therefore should NOT be removed with any form of detergent / anti grease cleaner or otherwise. Hinges should be kept free from dust and moisture by using a dry cloth.

To ensure that your product warranty will not be void -

• DO NOT use any of the following on polytec CREATEC doors & panels, shelving, benchtops, hinges, runners etc: Commercial Cleaning Products, Abrasive Cleaners, Scouring Pads or Abrasive Papers, Acids and Alkalis, Solvents, anti grease cleaners, Thinners, Turpentine (Turps), Ammonia, Bleach, Acetone, Easy-Off BAM!, M.E.K. or any other cleaning agents containing organic solvents or the above mentioned products.
• Avoid contact with sharp implements.
• Use range hoods whenever cooking, to avoid steam and cooking oil vapours from adversely effecting surfaces.

STONE TOPS

The Quantum Quartz stone featured in your dwelling has been selected for its unique natural beauty, warm

character, durability and high quality. Quantum Quartz is not a full gloss finish, it is a semi gloss. If your bench top looks too shiny or blotchy please review your cleaning methods.

Care and Maintenance

Quartz is extremely low maintenance. For everyday cleaning use a PH neutral, non citrus cleaner and wipe with a soft cloth or sponge. Ensure you remove all cleaner residue with damp cloth or sponge.

For stubborn stains use Quantum Quartz Cream Cleanser. Quantum Quartz is virtually non‐porous and does not require sealing or polishing to maintain its semi‐gloss, smooth finish

NOTE: When cleaning with the Quantum Quartz Cream Cleanser, please dilute with water first, then apply with a non scratch scourer or soft cloth. When unsure test cleanser on a small piece of your bench that is out of view.

Quantum Quartz is an extremely strong material but you should observe the following;

• Direct exposure to hot pots, pans or other hot items, or cutting direct on the stone. Use a chopping board, place mats and coasters to protect the surface from scratching, dulling or heat marks;
• Avoid sitting or standing on the benchtops and vanities;
• Wipe up spills immediately, to avoid potential absorption of substances into stone;
• Pay particular attention to substances such as soap, detergents, abrasive or harsh chemicals or cleaners, solvents, toothpaste, tea, coffee, alcohol, vinegar and citrus juices as these may stain, etch or dull the stone. Lipstick, industrial and laundry marker and ink are unlikely to be removable. Avoid resting steel or items which may rust on the stone, to prevent rust markings;
• Do not use acids, wax, sealers, steam cleaners or petroleum products on stone.
• Do not use abrasives or scouring powders / cleaners (such as Jif, Ajax or Gumption). Heavy use of cleaner may take off the stone surface gloss.
• Knocking, dropping or bumping the Product with heavy item
