What should we do? What action steps would we take?

• Growth of CTE

  • surveying students about what they want to do 

  • match labor market data with program offering - livable wages (specific to area) - shortage of educators - where are gaps

  • build partnership with industries that are in need of employees

  • outreach program: cold calling, knocking on doors, networking (face-to-face)

  • offer up&coming programs that are going to take off in upcoming years; stay modern and up-to-date

• reflect on current offerings & how they can be better. Do they still fit the needs of industry/students

• maintain and continue to push on current progress

• establish & communicate clearly defined paths 

• aligned GAE orientations

• take stock of marketing resources & efforts

• coordinate with consortium partners to:

  • identify marketing gaps at the member level

  • identify resources of each member

• implement student contact list to serve as a reference for potential students in specific ethnic groups, fields, programs, language groups ...

• identify barriers that need to be addressed in order for marketing to be effective

• target ESL and ABE for career training and community college

• talk (survey, empathy interviews) to students (ESL, ABE, HS jr and seniors) to drive decisions and programs

    • need agenda, positive framework, celebrate successes, encourage ownership
