Student Led Conferences
Thank you to the parents who attended our Student-Led Conferences and were able to share in your child's celebration of learning. It was so wonderful to see the students taking the lead and eagerly demonstrating their knowledge and skills.
Soddies
For this Art project, students created replicas of soddies—houses built by settlers in Alberta. Using clay, they shaped the structure of the soddie, and then added dried moss to represent the natural materials used in construction. The project helped students explore historical architecture while developing their creative and crafting skills.
St. Patrick’s Day Story Writing
The students worked on creating their own St. Patrick’s Day story. They began by selecting a plot and then used graphic organizers to develop key story elements such as characters, setting, problem, and solution. The focus was on incorporating descriptive words to make the story vivid and engaging. After completing their planning, students wrote a rough draft of their story, paying attention to detail and creativity.
Once the rough draft was complete, students worked on the editing process, revising for clarity, sentence structure spelling, and punctuation. After making improvements, students typed up their final copy.
