This project gave students the responsibility of caring for their own “Peep” for a full week! Each student earned Bunny Money by completing tasks, demonstrating responsibility, and showing positive behavior. But just like in real life, caring for a Peep comes with costs—like shelter, babysitting and some house keeping. So students had to learn to manage their Bunny Money wisely. The goal was to teach responsibility, budgeting, and empathy in a fun, hands-on way that encouraged students to think about the needs of others while practicing real-world skills. The students had a BLAST and we were so proud of their willingness to engage fully in this challenge! 

On Thursday afternoon, they built Peep catapults and spent their leftover money at our Hop Shop! 

The students explored various Elements of Art - line, shape, colour and value by creating a vibrant spring themed art project. Students followed a step by step guide, first creating their own flowers, outlining them in crayon, and exploring with washable markers using a paintbrush and water to blend the colours within their flowers. This ultimately created a watercolour effect, which created various forms of value. Students then used a permanent marker to create contrast, making lines and shapes, emphasizing their bunnies! Students worked with balance and space as they glued their bunnies to the background. 

This week, students explored the world of magnetism through a series of engaging, hands-on activities. They learned that magnetic force is a non-contact force, meaning it can act without touching an object. Working with a partner, students rotated through nine interactive stations, where they tested a variety of magnetic materials, observed how magnetism can pass through some objects, and investigated the strength of magnetic forces. At each station, they made careful observations and recorded their findings.
