Paper 1
British Thematic Study: Crime and Punishment in Britain, c1000–present (20%)
with Historic Environment: Whitechapel, c1870–c1900: crime, policing and the inner city (10%)
Paper 2
Period Study: Superpower relations and the Cold War, 1941–91 (20%)
and British Depth Study: Early Elizabethan England, 1558-1588 (20%)
Paper 3
Modern Depth Study: Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918–39 (30%)
Study a range of primary and secondary sources from both Britain and abroad
Learn how to structure your knowledge into chronological accounts
Present detailed arguments using specific historic evidence
Attend trips to museums and historical sites (COVID permitting)
Use ICT and Google classroom to create and complete collaborative tasks
The course is 100% exam assessed.
You will sit three exams, one for each paper listed above, at the end of year 11.
Throughout the course, your teachers will prepare you through the use of a mix of in class and at home exams focusing on the skills required to sit the end the course exams. You will also have regular in-class knowledge quizzes.
