Kia Ora Year 11, this week we are cementing our learning around the dytopian context and the three aspects we are studying this year- Character, setting and idea. It is really important that you look at all the lesson slides below to ensure you know what is expected of you- there are videos within the presentation. This week, we will complete our first analysis of 'Model Citizen' and then complete the short story 'The Lottery' Please don't forget to bring your journals in.

This week we will be looking contextual information, which will lead directly to your understanding of some of the aspects of the text: Character, ideas, setting. Kia Ora Year 11, this is a two week section on work that we are doing in preparation for the 1.3 Demonstrate understanding of specific aspects of studied text (AS91925 external) worth 5 Credits. Firstly watching the film Gattaca, directed by Andrew Niccol and then completing some basic plot information to ensure understanding. We will then start gathering all the information required to confidently answer an exam question on the different aspects: Character, idea, setting. Below you will find the plot work, and later in the week you will have a copy of the aspects work.

Kia Ora Year 11, for the next few weeks we will be working on pulling all of the ASPECTS (idea, setting, character) information together. In week 9, you will sit a practice exam and in week 10, we will do some dystopian language feature work. More information to come.
