Kia Ora Year9, welcome to TERM 3! We are working on CHOICES AND CHALLENGES this term. We are going to study these ideas through the use of short text, like poems and short stories . In week 3, we are going to look at choices and challenges that we all make in our normal everyday lives- combined with this, we are going to start to learn the language features needed to write a successful peom- then is CREATE time. Kia Ora Year 9, this week we are going to concentrate on cementing in the most common language features used when writing poems. Below you will find the shared presentation you all worked on with the language features, definitions and examples- you will always have this to refer back to. Slides 10-16
Every lesson we begin with a 'Do Now'. The type of activity will follow a 3 week cycle
1- Writing in our journal- Big statement prompt or other writing based activities EG: Leaning about language features or sentence construction.
2- Reading based activities.
3- Speaking activities, based on interpreting and discussing a Whakataukī
