Kia Ora Year 9, this week we are going to spend preparing for your E-AsTTle writng and your PAT reading test. We will focus on the language of persuasion and how to structure your responses. We are also going to visit the library, where you will have an opportunity to take out a book to read. Alsocheck out which ' Do now' will feature this week. This week we look at what this theory actually is and work on how we identify it in literature. Have a look at the presentation below and the short story we will be using. You have your own copy of the short story and tasks in your google drive. By the end of the week we will be starting your work on your own chosen Hero's journey film. don't forget to complete your 'Exit ticket' every lesson (in your google drive)

Kia Ora Year 9, this week we start our exemplar work to get ready for your assessment-which is due at the end of the term. We are going to watch 'Star Wars' by George Lucas. This is a classic example of a hero's journey film. We are then going to pull out examples of the different stages of Luke's hero's journey and learn how to write a SEXY paragraph. This is all in preparation for what you have to do for your assessment. Below you will find a copy of the work we will do for 'Star Wars'- you have your own copy in your google drive.

Then we are going to look into the character of Luke ( the Hero). We are also going to start to understand how to write a SEXY paragraph about Luke's hero's journey.
