Our class continued building important safety skills by learning about community helpers! As an extension of our Tattle Monster lesson, we talked all about trusted adults and the helpers in our community who keep us safe. We watched fun videos, shared ideas during class discussions, and practiced identifying doctors, firefighters, and police officers.
Take a look at the color by number worksheets we completed. The goal was to practice independence by following instructions and to identify community helpers.
The next two worksheets are completed by Bree and Ryan. These students did an amazing job going into detail about both police officers and firefighters. Bree and Ryan demonstrated their fantastic penmanship.
We also learned what to do in an emergency, including when and how to call 9-1-1 and what information to share when asking for help. You may have seen the reminder card sent home, which students can keep as a helpful guide to reinforce these safety skills at home. This lesson helped connect classroom learning to real-life situations and gave students extra confidence in knowing how to stay safe!
