Want to stay in the Christmas spirit?
Enjoy some festive music as you read about our holiday cheer!
As we headed into Christmas break, our classroom was full of festive fun and holiday cheer! Our students loved getting creative while making special Christmas ornaments, each one filled with personality, effort, and lots of holiday spirit. You may have seen these sweet creations when they were sent home right before break. It was such a warm, joyful way to celebrate the season together.Â
Of course, Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a little help straight from the North Pole! Our classroom was lucky enough to have our very own helpers sent by Santa himself. Meet Squirely, our mischievous elf, Fizzle, our festive gnome, and Barnabey Tinsletoes, the head elf from the North Pole. Â
Every morning we could find Squirely in a new hiding spot and read a letter from the North Pole!

We even decorated our classroom and hallway to prepare for the school’s holiday hallway decorating competition! From planning to placing decorations, everyone pitched in and showed off their creativity and teamwork. We are so proud of the effort they put in!
To help spread the holiday cheer we cultivated in our classroom, our students came up with the idea to write Christmas cards for Taylor’s Rec Center. The rec center so graciously hosts our class and allows us to use their indoor walking track. Our students loved creating their cards and were so excited to share them with the staff at Taylor’s Rec Center.Â
On the last day before Christmas break, our students got to read The Polar Express and decorate cookies with Ms. Breig, GHS's Media Specialist. Take a look at some of these yummy creations, and Ms. T's photobombing skills!
To wrap up our last day together, we celebrated with a Christmas party filled with pigs in a blanket, rice krispie treats, English muffin pizzas, and popcorn all made in house in our Life Skills Room. To stay on theme with the book we read in the morning, we watched The Polar Express. Then right before the busses came, Coach Smith came with presents for all of our kiddos!
