What is Photojournalism?

Articles based around photos are meant to hold a harder impact using visuals rather than just words. Words are a part of the articles however, the photos are supposed to make you feel something the words alone could not. They tend to be shorter than other articles but it can vary depending on the subject.

Why is Photojournalism important?

Photos on a subject can harbor more weight because they are image proof. Images have a tendency to make readers feel more emotion than just descriptive words because you have to experience it. Adding photos also helps with credability because authentic photos are harder to be biased that words.

What are some real life examples?

Time Magazine, is a popular source for photojournalism even for younger audiences. Another example that presents photojournalism would be Smithsonian Magazine as well. One of the most famous photo used in photojournalism was the Afghan Girl written by CNN.
