What National Award's represent

National awards represent those cadets that have met the standards and then chosen to exceed those standards. Prestigious and reputable organizations from across the nation recognize cadets of various skill levels for outstanding achievement in academics, leadership, self-improvement, discipline, tenacity, and demonstration of the seven Army values.

​The awards are listed in order of precedence below. The cadet along with a denotation of the respective societies and organizations that presented the award and the requirements of each award.

  • Must be in the top 10% of the JROTC class academically

  • Must be in the top 50% of the class academically

  • Must be engaged in extracurricular activities

  • Must be in the top 20% of JROTC class in military knowledge

U.S. Army Recruiting Command Award

  • Awarded annually to one female and one male cadet.

  • Be in the top 25% of the academic class

  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership traits and possess the potential for assuming positions of increased responsibility

  • Participate in integrated-curricular activities that foster both scholastic and military excellence

  • Demonstrate qualities of dependability and good character, respects military discipline and standards, and possesses a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of JROTC training.

National Society of the Daughters of 1812 Award

Founded in 1892, the National Society United States Daughters of 1812, women’s service organization for descendants of patriots who aided the American cause during the War of 1812. The National Society of the Daughters of 1812 award a JROTC cadet that exceeds in the areas of academics, leadership, military discipline, dependability, patriotism, which exemplify the ideals upon which our nation was founded.

Daughters of the American Colonists (DAC) Award

The Daughters of the American Colonists foster love for the United States of America and its institutions by all its residents; and to obey its laws and venerate its flag, the emblem of its power and civic righteousness. This award is presented to a cadet that shows love for this nation, the ideals of its forefathers, and the freedoms granted to all people that live in this land. This cadet has shown growth in both strength and achievement.

honors the crew of the Confederate submarine H. L. Hunley, the first submarine to sink an enemy vessel in combat. The medal is awarded to a second-year cadet that demonstrates the qualities of Honor, Courage, and in particular, Commitment to the Battalion.

Reserve Officers Association Award (ROA)

Reserve Officer Association (ROA) JROTC award is presended to a cadet in the program for recognition of outstanding achivement and execptional leadership ability. To be eligible for this awae the cadet must:

  • Be in the second year of a three-year program or the third year of a four-year program

  • Be in a good academic standing

  • Demonstrate exceptional potential in leadership

  • Not have previously received this award.
