🏀March Madness FINALS: Fudge Covered vs. Lemon
Thank you for all the help during this time of pre-ACT registration. I really appreciate your help.
I have received many messages and email concerning student registration, so I wanted to take the opportunity to help rectify some of the problems with the non-test registration.
There are many students who are receiving an Error message when entering their student code into the ACT registration section. The Error code is coming from the student creating an account without using the proper credentials. What does this mean? A few things that can be causing the issue.
Let me explain:
#1 Problem: Student creates an account using their personal email and receives the ERROR message when entering their student code.
Solution: Have student create a new account using their STUDENT EMAIL. The system should accept the student code.
#2 Problem: Student has two last names and only entered one when creating an account and receives an ERROR message when entering their student code.
Solution: Student will need to call the ACT customer service line and correct the information with ACT. Only students are allowed to call and change personal information. The
student absolutely must enter the full information that is on the student form. If there are two last names (example: Ordonez Rodriguez) and the student only enters
one of the last names when registering, then system will not accept the student code and will give an ERROR message. Please remind students to enter BOTH last
names otherwise they will have to call ACT customer service and fix it right away. ACT customer service is: 319-337-1270. Unfortunately, the student is the only
person who can fix personal information problems.
#3 Problem: Teachers and Students may think that if the student does not register for the Non-Test Registration, then they will not be able to take the ACT test. (not true)
Solution: If the ACT Non-Test Registration is not completed before the ACT test, students are still expected to take the ACT and yes, they are still registered to take the ACT.
The non-test registration is simply to get students registered on the ACT database to give students an opportunity to: connect with colleges and universities, look into
scholarships, be able to send their ACT scores to four colleges for free, and other things available in the ACT system. Students have up to 48 hours after the ACT test
to complete the non-test registration to be eligible for the four free ACT scores to be sent to colleges/universities. If the student misses the non-test registration, the
may still register anytime.
#4 Problem: Student does not have an ACT non-test registration form.
Solution: Let the student know they can come to me in the Registrar's office before school, after school or during lunch to pick up a non-test registration form.
If you have any more problems or questions, let me know. I am sorry if I was unable to help students this morning during Advisory. I was testing a new student at the time.
REMINDER: Tomorrow, Wednesday, is the PSAT 9 test. I will not be available until after 1:00.
Again, if you need anything or have questions, problems or issues with ACT non-test registration, message or email me. I will be able to help via email or Teams during the PSAT.
