1) Go to https://helpdesk.graniteschools.org
2) Login with Active Directory username/password
3) Click 'User/Student Accounts' and search for student
4) Click the key icon to change the password
5) Student types password twice. Uncheck the force change box. Click submit.
a) The password MUST contain 3 of the following 4 attributes: capital letter, lowercase letter, number, symbol
b) The password requires 7 or more characters
c) Student can NOT use parts of their student ID or name in the password, or old expired passwords
6) Completely remove student account from Chromebook and wait three minutes before logging in with new password
You can write an email to techhelp@graniteschools.org and it will automatically create a ticket! Just be sure to include your problem and location.
If the Chromebook won't connect to wifi automatically or is connected to GSDGuest on a school-issued Chromebook (students should NOT be connecting to GSDGuest as a workaround)
If the Chromebook becomes "infected"
If the Chromebook won't power on and/or the charging light won't appear when plugged in
⏩ YouTube is blocked for students. Embedding allows students to view the content without direct access to the YouTube website.
Newest Chromebooks (G9s only)
Open up the Microsoft Edge browser
Click on the Windows start button
type in "Edge" then click to launch when it appears
Click on the 'GSD Links' folder in the bookmarks bar at the top, then 'Printers', and, finally, 'Printers for Secondary Schools'
Click the NAME of the printer you want to add
Networked printers are named according to protocol as follows:
The first three digits are the location code
Brockbank is 514
Cyprus Main is 614
The middle four characters are the room location and could be a room number or room name
The last section of characters is for the model of printer
Click the 'Connect' link in the left-hand menu of the printer and confirm
Click the 'All Printers' link in the left-hand menu to return to the list
