Well done boys and girls! You found some great signs that spring is here! Check out some of the signs of spring your classmates found around their homes!
Kam found these beautiful daffodils growing in her garden!
Hadley also had some beautiful purple flowers popping up in her garden.
She also found some buds growing on a tree in her yard.
Saathiya started some of the plants that will grow in her garden this summer.
Mia found some plants growing in her garden too!
She said, “ The flowers starting to come up in the garden is definitely a sign of spring. Just like we has a garden at my school “.
I wonder if the flowers in our garden at school are growing this much!
Here is a great book that shows many different trees as well as how they change throughout the year. Enjoy!
Here are two more of my favourite read alouds about trees! Have a watch!
Find a tree in your yard. Take a picture of it!
Spend a few minutes observing your tree. Do you notice any animals in your tree? What do the branches look like? Is anything growing?
Draw a picture of your tree and label the branches, trunk and anything else that is important about your tree. Upload your picture and drawing to the Google Classroom.
PARENTS: Can you record your child's description of the tree? Quote your child directly, recording JUST what they say and add it to the description on the assignment when you submit it.
e.g. "This one because it's big. A squirrel up there."
"I picked this tree. It has a nest up there."

When we sort objects, we put things into group by following a rule.
We sort at school when we are putting toys away! In our block centre, we sort the big blocks into one shelf and the small ones into the other shelf. Then we put the rock blocks in the basket and the long planks in the container. We put the blocks that are the same size or type together! It is a great way to sort objects!
Here's some toys I found in our playroom.
I sorted them into 3 groups.
What do you think my sorting rule is?
Sorted by colour
Here's a different group of toys.
I sorted them into 4 groups.
How did I sort them? What is my sorting rule?
Sorted by type of toy (vehicles, duplo, superheroes and magnetic tiles)
These toys I sorted into just 2 groups.
What is the same about the first group?
What is my sorting rule?
Sorted by vehicles/not vehicles
Here's a few games you can try!
Choose some objects in your house.
Sort these objects by colour. Take a picture.
Sort these same objects in a different way. Take a picture.
I wonder if we can guess your sorting rule!
One of our favourite songs we would sing with Mrs. Harmon at the end of the day. Will you sing along with us?
