The joy on students' faces when they earn the coveted Golden Shoe Trophy is priceless! I love rewarding their hard work and effort. I believe this small token builds confidence, self-esteem, and certainly a sense of belonging.
Jump Rope Team offers opportunities for students outside the classroom and has multiple benefits. It provides authentic learning experiences that acknowledge and build upon talents and strengths. The members are physically active, challenged to master advanced jump rope skills, trained to work as a team, and encouraged to build relationships with others.
One of my goals is to expose our students to a variety of sports and activities so that they can discover their interests and passions. By seeking and encouraging talent development we provide opportunities for students to SHINE and showcase their gifts.
"The Impossible Shot" is an incentive that motivates students and has boosted confidence for so many! Students who line up quickly and quietly can earn an attempt to stand at midcourt, throw the frisbee toward the basketball goal, and sink the shot. The celebrations that follow a successful throw are priceless!

What an honor for our elementary students to perform at the Arena on such a BIG stage in front of a large audience!
I hope the Jump Rope Team has helped these individuals develop the confidence they need to try new things. My ultimate desire is for my students to be challenged to spread their wings and get out of their comfort zones.

Creating a sense of belonging means highlighting differences as SUPER POWERS! Adis and his family were so kind to share his heart story with the entire student body. Thanks to his bravery, our Wildcats understand that heart defects affect people of all ages.
