"To truly lead, and make a difference in the world, you must always start with yourself."
"Leadership is power WITH people, not power OVER people."
"The whole purpose of leadership is to serve."
December 12, 2018 - Introduced "The Power of a Positive Team" book study during our monthly faculty meeting with Mrs. Price and Mrs. Ryan.
Mrs. Ryan and Mrs. Price facilitated the "ZOOM" activity by discussing the importance of using a telescope to remind yourself where you are going and why you are going there. It is important to look through the microscope daily in order to focus on what matters most and follow through on your commitments. In closing we projected a video focusing on the importance of remembering our "WHY." "When you know your WHY, your WHAT has more impact because you're walking in or toward your purpose." Michael Jr.
I shared my project, data, and findings with a small group along with an infographic created to communicate my experience and evidence.
This year I have served as a "Girl's Run the World" volunteer on Monday's after school. I have a small group that I mentor, engage, and counsel with each week. Our goal is to build the student's confidence and self-esteem while at the same time improve their overall health and wellness. In early December we competed in a Saturday morning 5K race called "Elves on the Run." We also plan to participate in the "FMHS Rosette Run" in May.
I have had the privilege of mentoring the same "Paw Pal" for the past 3 years. I strive to meet with her, write her notes of encouragement, and often surprise her with unexpected gifts.
I had the privilege of serving as a "Cooperating / Mentor Teacher" for Rosalee Bayer. She was a wonderful student teacher from Texas Women's University in Denton.
