NKEC Basketball

Basketball is one of the longest seasons of any school sport. The season usually begins in October with tryouts and then continues until early March. Both senior teams compete in a number of tournaments in and out of the province, as well as hosting their own during the month of December. The fee for the season is based on the number of games and tournaments being attended. As a the number of students interested in basketball continues to grow, JV teams have been introduced to already compliment a solid school basketball program from Junior High all the way to Varsity.

Varsity Boys

2024/25 Senior Boys Basketball Team

2024/25 Regional and Provincial Champions

The Varsity boy will be coached by Kevin Veinot, Scott Pope and Dawson Vaughan this season. The boys squad is filled with young talent and will be looking to do well at the Regional tournament and aim for a provincial playoff birth with this young hungry roster.

It is an exciting time for the Varsity boys program.

Varsity Girls

2025/26 Senior Girls Basketball Team

The girls enter the 2025/26 season looking to improve on a 3rd place in the 2024/25 Provincial Championships.

The team is coached by Ross Bentley (10th year) along with Asst. Coach Eric MacMillan (* 12 year Varsity boys) and former NKEC player Jenna Cross coming on board.

With a young squad containing a lot of talent, the future is bright for the Lady Titans. Stay tuned for live broadcasts of games this season as well as score updates.

Junior Boys

2023/24 Middle School Boys Basketball

The Junior boys program will be coached by Dale Sanford and Chad Mackinnon . The MS boys team has a roster full of young energetic young men who love the game of basketball. This young team will have a lot of opportunity for growth and experience over the next few years.

Junior Varsity Boys

The JV boys will be entering their eigth season in 2024/25. After a great few years the Titans will look to build and develop more players at the high school level. With a large number of boys playing the game of basketball the JV team offers a great option for boys to get valuable experience and minutes in an extremely competitive league.

JV Basketball typically starts during the first week in November and runs through to February. Tryouts start once the senior teams have been selected and are up and running.

This year the team will be Coached by Henk Ueffing and Travis Cox

The JV girls team will be fielding a team for the first time in a couple of years. With lots of young players looking to get involved with competitive basketball, this is a great starting point.

These years tam will be coached Jen Veinot and Reece Laceby.
