Unified Basketball

Unified Sport Basketball brings Learning Centre and non-Learning Centre students together on a basketball team to play other teams within the region. The focus of the program is to provide a platform for all participants to develop their sense of sportsmanship, friendship, and leadership.

This is NKEC’s third year having a Unified Sport Basketball team. All practices and games occur within the school day and the program runs from November until May.

Practices are held on Mondays at lunch from 11:50 to 12:20. There will be 3 to 5 games scheduled throughout the season, as well as an end of year tournament that includes all Unified teams within the AVRCE.

All high school Learning Centre students are given the option to join the Unified team. Non-Learning Centre students must complete an application that describes their interest in the program and why they would be a good participant for the team.

Students who are interested in becoming involved in the program can pick up an application from Ms. Croft in Room 114 between Monday, September 23 and Friday, September 27.

All applications must be received by Monday, September 30 to be considered for the program.
