Tips for managing mental health during COVID-19

Tips for improving your mental health and maintaining social connection during COVID-19.

1) Go to sleep at the same time every night and wake up at the same time everyday. Make sure you are getting enough sleep at night. Click here to read more about sleep and why it is so important.

2) Call or text your friends and family members who do not live with you. Stay in touch and check in with them often.

3) Get some exercise every day. Check out the exercise tab on this website to try something new!

4) Get some fresh air everyday, even if it is just opening a window. If you go for a walk, be sure to stay 2m away from others. Remember, just because you are physically apart from others, doesn't mean that you can't smile, wave and say hi to people you see.

5) Organize a virtual "party", dinner or trivia night with family members and loved ones.

6) Find a creative way for you to express yourself. This might be through music, journalling, drawing, play or writing poetry.
