Following the Provincial Inclusion Education Policy, teachers/staff should have attempted strategies and documented adaptations at the classroom level to support students before proceeding with a Tier 2 or 3 referral.

Consult with Teaching Support Team & Student Planning Team to discuss strengths, challenges, interests, current programming and recommended programming
Inform parent(s)/guardian(s) of the resource models, strategies and goals of the support
Complete Resource Intervention Form to outline goals/focus of support

Obtain written consent from parent(s)/guardian(s) for Resource Support
LEARNING CENTRE & LEARNING CENTRE/BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT:
Consult with Teaching Support Team & Student Planning Team to discuss strengths, challenges, interests, current programming and recommended programming
Inform parent(s)/guardian(s) of programming goals
Have school psychologist endorse appropriate referrals at SPT meeting
The referral for behaviour, social skills or academic (typically IPP) programming provided by a Learning Support Teacher is created under Learning Centre <50% or >50%
Identified Learning Support Teacher will send referral via TIENET to Stephen MacDougall, Coordinator of Student Services. Include statement of endorsement from psychologist in referral.
Obtain written consent from parent(s)/guardian(s) for Learning Centre/Behaviour Support
