Have you ever wondered what it takes to run a real business? This term, Year 6 found out! For the Entrepreneurship Unit, our classrooms turned into a bustling marketplace of brilliant ideas, boardroom meetings, and exciting pitches. We had to learn how the real world works, starting from the very beginning with a real business plan. Every group spent hours calculating budgets, figuring out what made their products special, and deciding exactly who would want to buy them.
Once our plans were ready, it was time for the most thrilling part of the day: the pitching sessions. Just like real inventors on television, we had to stand up and present our final business ideas to our teachers, who acted as the judges. Our hearts were racing, but everyone did an amazing job standing tall, speaking clearly, and answering tough questions. Right after the pitches, we moved into intense investor meetings. We had to use our best persuasion skills to secure investment for our projects, proving to the investors that our ideas could actually work and make a profit.
The creativity in the room during this unit was inspiring. One group pitched a natural soap business that used skin-friendly ingredients and smelled amazing. Another eco-friendly team designed beautiful, sustainable keychains made entirely out of recycled materials to help clean up the planet. Other groups focused on health by having businesses that sold delicious, nutritious food packaged in sustainable wrappers, and one group even built a maze with a scary background and sound effects! Every single team brought something unique and exciting to the table.
Entrepreneurship Day taught us important life skills that we will use forever. By considering our ingredients and packaging, we mastered business ethics and learned to treat customers fairly while protecting the environment. We also learnt the true meaning of collaboration by working in teams, listening to each other's ideas, and solving problems together. Finally, we got a crash course in marketing by designing eye-catching advertisements, alongside balancing our financials by tracking our costs and managing a strict budget.
Best of all, our hard work really paid off for a good cause. By the end of the day, our sales had been a massive success, and we collected around 12 million rupiah to donate! A huge thank you to all the teachers, investors, and customers who supported us.

As part of our Entrepreneurship unit, we were honored to welcome Ibu Tasya (Rayyan’s mom) as our guest speaker. During her presentation, she shared her personal journey as an entrepreneur, explaining how she transformed her ideas into a successful business through hard work, determination, and continuous learning.
She discussed the importance of identifying opportunities, understanding customers' needs, managing finances wisely, and maintaining a strong commitment to quality and service. Ibu Tasya also spoke about the challenges she faced along the way, including overcoming setbacks, adapting to changes, and staying motivated during difficult times. Through real-life examples and practical advice, she demonstrated that entrepreneurship requires not only creativity and innovation but also resilience, responsibility, and effective problem-solving skills.
The session was highly engaging and provided students with valuable insights into the world of business. It inspired them to think critically, develop confidence in their ideas, and appreciate the skills and mindset needed to become successful entrepreneurs in the future.
Thank you, Ibu Tasya, for sharing with us the knowledge and skills to run a successful business.
