This year marked a special milestone for our Kindergarten students as they participated in their very first Planet Patrol Expo. It was an exciting opportunity for them to share their learning journey with parents, teachers, school leaders, and older students.
Throughout the unit, students explored different habitats, including the ocean, jungle, savannah, and desert. They investigated the animals that live in these environments, learned about their unique features, and discovered ways people can help protect our planet.
To showcase their understanding, each student created a habitat diorama using recycled and classroom materials. On Expo day, the classroom was filled with excitement as students proudly stood beside their projects, ready to explain their ideas and answer questions from visitors.
For many students, speaking in front of others was a new experience. Some eagerly shared every detail of their work, while others felt a little shy at first. Despite their different feelings, each child demonstrated courage by showing up, presenting their project, and communicating their learning. Watching them grow in confidence throughout the day was truly heartwarming.
The Planet Patrol Expo was more than a celebration of learning—it was a celebration of bravery, perseverance, and student agency. Our young learners showed that taking action does not always mean making big changes; sometimes it means finding the courage to share your voice and your ideas with others.
We are incredibly proud of all our Planet Patrol members. Their curiosity, creativity, and willingness to step outside their comfort zones made this first Expo a memorable success. We look forward to seeing them continue to grow as confident learners and caring protectors of our planet.
