Dear Global Jaya Community,
We are so excited to see our Year 10 students exhibit their MYP Personal Project. This culmination of their personal and academic interests combined with the development of ATL skills and the Learner Profile come together in the Personal Project Exhibition. This will take place on January 30th from 10 am to 2 pm in the Theater and Foyer at GJS. Four different IB schools will also come to visit and observe how GJS hosts the exhibition. We are proud to be an example for the IB Dunia Community.
After the Personal Project, Year 10 students will focus on their ePortfolio and prepare for their eAssessments. The mock exams will begin February 27-March 4th. The final MYP eAssessments will be held in the first two weeks of May. Please view the calendar and exam calendar attached. Please remember that May 14th is a school holiday, but the IB has scheduled the MYP Science Exam on that day. Therefore, students will need to come to school for their exam on the 14th and then they can go home.
Year 9 students have started their Personal Project journey and University Counseling Sessions. During MYP Core on Tuesdays, students started learning about the MYP Personal Project. They will attend the exhibition on the 30th and interview at least 4 students about their process.
Also, Ibu Dana and Bu D started the first of five university counseling sessions. Students learned about UniFrog as a platform to document, learn, and prepare for university applications.
On January 14, all MYP students learned about Service as Action opportunities such as Habitat for Humanity and how to apply for the IB Global Youth Action Fund. We were proud to showcase some of our amazing GJS students and their service projects. Celebrating service contributions fosters caring and open-mindedness.
Finally, on January 9th, GJS celebrated academic excellence for Gold, Silver, Bronze awards and for achievements of 7s in MYP courses. The next awards ceremony will be in August of 2026 to distinguish achievements in the MYP from semester 2 of 2026. We hope to see you there!
