Dear Global Jaya Community,
The next few weeks include several important moments and events for our Primary and Secondary students. Up first is the MYP Personal Project Exhibition. The Personal Project in Year 10 is an individual, long-term exploration of a specific passion, culminating in a 15 page research essay. The Personal Project Exhibition, taking place on January 30th, allows Year 10 students the opportunity to share their learning journey with friends, families, classmates, and visitors from other schools.
The following week, our Year 6 students take part in the PYP Exhibition, which also serves as a culminating independent inquiry, celebrating years of learning and student agency. The PYP Exhibition in Year 6 involves collaborative or individual research into real-world issues. For both milestones, students apply the Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, such as self-management and research, to create a tangible product or outcome. These projects empower learners to take responsible action and reflect on their personal growth within the IB Learner Profile. Ultimately, these experiences bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-life application, preparing students for the upcoming rigorous demands of the Diploma Programme.
Starting on February 9, our Year 12 students will begin their IB DP mock exams. By the time students begin the mock exams, they will have finished learning the main body of content in each subject area, and the mock exams will test their knowledge and understanding in preparation for the actual DP exams. The mock exams are important because they offer feedback to the students and teachers about areas for final preparation for the IB DP exams. Year 12 parents are encouraged to speak with their students about the results, connect with the teachers for support, and reach out to Pak Ram, the IB DP Coordinator, if you have any questions. More importantly, Year 12 parents should attend the DP Mock Exam Parent Session on February 26th–see the flyer below for more details.
As always, thank you for your support and please enjoy the February edition of Kontak.

January Celebrations
In the month of January, GJS was busy with many academic and year level assemblies, a Service and CAS assembly, an arts trip to Singapore, and a community soccer match.
Our Admissions team continues accepting and processing applications for both the 2025-2026 Semester 2 and 2026-2027 academic years.
Our next Open Day event will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026. This event provides an opportunity for us to share with new and potential families all that is special about our school, our community and why a Global Jaya School prepared and delivered International Baccalaureate continuum education is the best option for their children.
If you have colleagues, friends and/or family interested in learning more about joining our community, please encourage them to contact Ibu Dewi J, our GJS Admissions officer, at admission@globaljaya.com or by phone at +62 21 745 7562 Ext.154 for further details.
Coffee Morning - IXL
Please join us on Tuesday, February 3rd at 8:00 am in the MPH for our next Parent Coffee. The meeting will focus on IXL for parents. IXL is our external assessment system we use for students in years 2 to 10. We hope to see you there!
