Time flies! It seems like it was just yesterday when we started the school year, and now we are only less than three weeks away from the end of Term 3. Nevertheless, our students, teachers, and parents all continue to work hand-in-hand to make HBL work effectively.
On February 24, the Indonesian government has kickstarted the mass distribution programme of COVID-19 vaccines for teachers. Although we are currently waiting in line for further and accurate information regarding our portion of the distribution, along with the several stages to consider before opening face-to-face learning, this vaccine accessibility has indeed spawned hope that the end of the pandemic might be in sight.
While waiting for the official guidance for the ‘reopening’ stage, we, at Primary, will, of course, continue our efforts to provide the best HBL experience possible for our students. Our teachers have carefully designed a variety of learning projects and activities to provide students with meaningful learning opportunities. Besides engagement in regular synchronous and asynchronous sessions with their teachers, our students also benefit from other learning experiences, such as having sessions with guest speakers, virtual field trips, etc.
On February 25th and 26th, our Year 6 students and teachers successfully completed the PYP exhibition, carried out entirely online this year. We invited students, teachers, parents, visitors from other schools, and our community; we virtually came together to showcase and celebrate the PYP journey.
Coming up on our calendar is our Mid Semester Conferences. This has been scheduled for the 18th and 19th of March. We hope that all parents and students can meet with their teachers to celebrate the students progress and set the next target for Term 4. Please mark your calendar so you will not miss the dates!
I believe our success during this HBL journey has been demonstrated in the commitment we share in the value of learning, wellbeing, and safety of each student. Not only are we overwhelmingly proud of our students’ outstanding efforts to overcome challenges and adhering to health protocols, but we are also thankful to our parents, who have been tremendously supportive throughout our HBL journey. You have certainly played a prominent and significant role in the success of our students’ learning. So thank you so much!
