On Thursday, August 18, 2020, Year 5 students celebrated Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. At that time, we did several activities, such as playing quizzes and singing. The quizzes were Indonesian themed and were done in different ways. We used apps like Kahoot and Quizizz. We did a quiz called "Finishing the National Song" using Quizizz, we did a quiz with questions about the proclamation of Indonesian Independence using Kahoot, and we also played the "National Hero Puzzle". Independence Day is usually celebrated by playing traditional games such as sack racing, marble racing, cracker eating competitions, and several others. However, this time we played online games because of the COVID-19 virus. This celebration involved both classes, 5A and 5B, and lasted for several hours. This year's Independence Day was a very different one from years past.
When we first were introduced to Google Sites we were allowed to explore things and even make a site about ourselves. The site about ourselves contains information about our birthday and favorite things through different categories such as TV shows and music taste. Google Sites will be the platform where we make portfolios this year. Google Sites are pretty easy to use so the teachers hope all students will have no trouble in making the portfolio. We had a Year 5 gathering where we went over the topic of Google Sites as our portfolio platform. We needed a volunteer to explain about using Google Sites for our portfolio. I stepped up to take the opportunity to explain the things to my friends.
