Our Student Union submitted a bid to the Welsh Government for a Sustainable Future Project and they have recently been granted over £22,000 for their project.
For the initial consultation, the Student Union’s created an online Padlet and asked students what Wales means to them. One of the most popular responses was the beautiful outdoors and the importance of family. Our students told us that they want to look after our environment and ensure that it is also looked after for future generations.
One tip per month which can be easily incorporated into everyday life and collectively can make a difference over a year. Each month focus on one approach and gradually build on them throughout the year.
Where possible support local businesses.
Once fully charged, as they keep on using energy even if the appliance is no longer connected.
use a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottled water.
Avoid food waste and freeze foods if you won't use them of think of ways to use leftovers.
Turn down the heating by 1°c & see if you notice the difference.
if you have things you no longer need, why not looking at ways of updating them or give them to a friend who can benefit from them.
Make the most of the good weather and instead of going in a vehicle try walking or cycling.
Especially when leaving a room. If there is plenty of natural light, try turning the lights off.

Use by: is the date the product is safe to eat until; food after this date is unsafe. Best before: when a product tastes best & will still be safe to eat, so don't throw it away until it passes the 'use by' date. Display until: this is a record for the supermarket, so ignore it.
Only boil as much water in the kettle as you need.
on your screens, this not only saves energy but is less of a strain on your eyes.
