Get Involved

Get involved with the SGA by being a member of the focus groups, event organization, etc. The creation of the Student Government Sub Committees allowed students to be direct participants in the initiatives of the SGA.

Focus Groups

The SGA led focus groups was first proposed by the President in the SGA meeting. The SGA passed a motion to create focus groups for various initiatives on 23rd August 2022. Initially, an idea for a focus group for the Student Lounge was proposed. Later, this was adopted for various other initiatives. The different focus groups include:

• Student Spaces Working Group

• Sustainability Focus Group

• Student Affairs Working Group

• Dining Services Focus Group 

• Race and Racial Inequality Working Group 

• Religious life Focus Group

• Residential Living Working Group

• GU-Q Hoyas (Sports)

All members of the Working and Focus Groups will automatically become members of the Student Government Sub-Committees. The members will be chosen by the SGA executive board and the chairpersons will be appointed within the first week of classes.
