The Marketing team is always working on new materials to get the word out about Geeks Who Drink - that means posters, promotional graphics, and social media support for our individual venues plus other products and events. Even though they do a great job, you can help too!
While it's not mandatory to use these assets or even post at all, promoting your event is important to build up an audience and create a community of regulars. We highly encourage you to promote your quiz or bingo night on your own social media accounts. Unique pages with "official" GWD branding should not be created without approval and oversight from the GWD marketing team. The easiest way to promote your event is to simply create a text post with your event details, but if you'd like some Bona-fide Geeks Who Drink Assets to add to your personal feed, we've created some that you can customize to make your perfect post.
And don't forgetĀ tag or mention our official pages on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok - this way we can interact with your post, boost engagement, and share with our followers! Remember, you're representing our company. Inside jokes, inappropriate slang, and ironic hate speech are not acceptable. We might be irreverent, but we're still classy.
If you're looking for Jeopardy! Bar League Promotional assets, use this section of the JBL Handbook.
One of the easiest ways to brand your content is by using our official GWD gifs, available through GIPHY. Below are some screenshots on how to add a gif on Instagram, but you can also search GIPHY on a browser to download and add them to your post. Just type up your event details, slap a branded gif on there, and you're good to go!
Open the sticker tray using the icon at the top of the creator
Search "geekswhodrink" as one word, no spaces.
Select and place the desired gif into your post
Click Here to access the various background images for your quiz or bingo night - there are square images in one folder for use on Facebook and Instagram as standalone static posts, and story images for posting to your Facebook/Instagram story. Choose the appropriate one for your quiz (GWD, SBT, DNB, or Boombox Bingo) and download a copy. All assets will come with a "bubble" - some blank space for you to add your text and information.
In addition to our traditional retro branding, the Marketing Team has also created some more visual variations you can use that might suit you and your venue (neon lights, chalk drawing, player photos, etc). These can be used the same way - just add text and post to your social media!
Go to our website, find your venue, and then copy or download the logo displayed. That's really it.
Using an editing tool, fill in the blank space with the details of your event. You can include the venue location, date & time of your event, and tag the venue itself in the post. Just to prove you don't need fancy tools to do this, here's a gif of how to create a social media post using MS PowerPoint. Other tools you can use include Photoshop, Canva, or even editing within your social app.
If you're adding text through a social app, keep the text legible and color coordinated. If you're feeling fancy and customizing things, please stick to our brand guidelines when possible

These are stickers you can add to any quiz night posts or stories to let folks know you are the QM on the scene. We have GWD Official QM Stickers as well as SBT Official QM Stickers, so use the one that's appropriate to your quiz!
In addition to the Official QM Stickers, we have GWD and SBT logo stickers that you can throw on top of any image you'd like to post to social media - perhaps a team photo or something fun you captured at quiz.
If you want to create a Facebook Event, please reach out to qmsupport@geekswhodrink.com so that we can partner with you on the details.
Once you've gotten approval, you can invite all your friends, family, and friends from high school that you don't really talk to anymore but you don't want to unfriend them because it would be awkward.
