There will be 2 playlists every week, labeled with the date range (e.g. "2024.06.02 - 2024.06.08"), "side", and the theme of the playlist. Each playlist will be used for 3 games of Boombox Bingo, with the winning pattern written in the notes. Please download BOTH playlists at home. You will be able to access them in Singo around 12pm ET every Monday.
Click "Load Playlist"
Click the plus sign
Click "Featured" - these are the playlists that Geeks Who Drink has created for our Boombox Bingo events
Select the two playlists labeled with that week's dates to download both Side A and Side B.
Once they've both been downloaded, you're good to go!
If your venue is using screens, click here to access the Google Slides version of the registration sheet. Make a copy and save it in your personal drive. You'll project it each game and leave it up so that players can sign up at any point.
If your venue is not using screens, you'll need a physical copy (below). This will be how your players sign up to play Boombox Bingo. Print one of these, get it laminated, and then click here so we can reimburse you. (Receipt is required for reimbursement.)
For a full tutorial on how to connect your equipment, click here.
If you have Singo open since downloading the playlists, go ahead and exit the app and then open it again. If it's been running for a while, Singo might glitch out.
Click Console in the lower right-hand corner of your Singo app, then click Settings. On the right-hand side of the screen below the Singo logo, click Switch Venue and use the keyword search to find your venue.
As of February 11, 2025, all hosts are required to select their appropriate venue instead of using Boombox Bingo as their venue.
If you're just running a practice game, choose Training Lab.
Load your playlist! Make sure you're loading the Side A playlist first. After you've loaded the playlist and see it in your dashboard, click Play Singo. The bingo cards will not be visible to the players until you've clicked Play Singo, so please go ahead and click "Play Singo!"
Present your Singo Live code - click Singo Live (the globe icon) under your playlist and write down the code on your player registration sheet that you previously printed and laminated.
Direct players to play.boomboxbingo.com and tell them to click "Side A" to register. See below for a screenshot of the player view.
Important note: As of February 2025, the Singo Live code (AKA Game Code) DOES NOT change every time a user logs out of or closes the Singo app. If a host is playing consistently with the same device, the live code shouldn't change.
There are numerous occasions and conditions where a live code could cycle, such as when backend service restarts or a backend update is pushed. Short version, your Game Code should remain pretty consistent and that's nothing to worry about.
While you're waiting for the fun to start, you'll want to take over the sound from the venue and start playing some music in the background. Use whatever ad-free platform you like, just keep things family-friendly! If you don't pay for ad-free streaming, we recommend freefy.app for some ad-free music. You'll also use this music during breaks throughout the show.
