The sixth-grade health/physical education program is a quarter-long class that continues to build on the skills learned in previous grades and enables students to apply the skills in controlled situations.
Throughout the quarter, will focus on four of the five health components of fitness:
Cardiorespiratory Endurance
Muscular Endurance
Muscular Strength
Flexibility
While learning about these components, students will also have the opportunity to explore the elements of dance. With a cumulative project of creating a fitness dance.
SIXTH GRADE STUDENT WORK
The seventh-grade health/physical education program is a quarter-long class that continues to build on the skills learned in previous grades while introducing new topics. The continuation of the fitness program reinforces positive behaviors while allowing students to manage their own health. The seventh-grade curriculum focuses on the six skill components of fitness:
Agility
Coordination
Reaction Time
Speed
Strength
Balance
While learning about these components, each lesson will also include one of the following health topics:
Drugs/Alcohol/Tobacco
Online Safety
Gender
Protecting Your Health

The eighth-grade health/physical education program is a quarter-long class that focuses on the inner workings of our body. Students will learn about the body's
Muscular System
Skeletal System
Diversity in Physical Activity
While discussing these topics, students are introduced to exercises that help strengthen specific muscles and bones and the macro and micronutrients needed to keep our bodies healthy.
