Intro to Art

This course is a general introduction to the visual arts designed to create an appreciation of the vocabulary, media, techniques, and purposes of the creative process. The curriculum is created for individuals with or without any artistic background. This course will cover a broad range of art topics such as varying art movements, cultured influences, artistic genres, artists and their artwork. We will discuss the basic processes of making art in many forms. Including drawing, painting, digital imaging, photography, and more. We will identify the elements of art and examine the principles of design. We will trace the history of art and describe various forms of art. We will analyze the parameters in evaluating and critiquing art. You will be encouraged to test, investigate, inquire and examine different art techniques.
