Registering
In order to purchase an ADEQ operator certification test, you must purchase a ticket through the PurplePass system. This is the only form of acceptance for the exams: NO CASH, NO MONEY ORDERS, NO CASHIER’S CHECKS are accepted.
Determine which Operator Certification test to take. Talk with your supervisor about which test to take, if you are unsure. If you turn out taking the wrong test, it is YOUR responsibility and you will need to purchase an additional appropriate test. It is up to you to get the right test and to make sure it is what you are paying for and taking. It is not the responsibility of GateWay or PurplePass.
Operators must hold the lower grade level certificate (example, Grade 1) for one full year (365 days from your effective certification date), prior to sitting for the next grade level exam. Operators may check the effective date of their certificate(s) by using the Operator Certification Database.
Review the available dates/locations.
Once you find the best date and location for you, you will need to click onto the HYPERLINKED date and it will take you to a PurplePass ticket to purchase.
Payment is due when you order the exam and payment is accepted only via credit card.
You may take ONLY ONE test per session. If there are two sessions in a day, you may take one test in each session. HOWEVER, you MUST purchase TWO SEPARATE tickets for the sessions. If you try to purchase two tickets for the am, thinking you can take the 2nd test in the afternoon, you are wrong. The second ticket will be moved to another date and possible location.
Exam orders are final. Once ordered, no refunds or cancellations or substitutions can be issued.
Click ‘Order Your Test Here’, select your exam, select the ‘Will Call’ delivery method and GateWay will have your registration information ready when you arrive for your exam, then click ‘Add to Cart’ (at the bottom of the page). Enter your legal name, as it appears on your valid ID, and an email address. Enter your credit card number and billing information, select ‘Confirm Order’.
Once you have paid through PurplePass, you will receive email confirmation of your purchase from PurplePass. Your payment will be called a "Will Call" transaction because your registration is given to GateWay... and all you will need to do... is to bring your PurplePass email receipt with you when you check in to test. That is, a copy of your receipt in addition to appropriate photo identification as listed below under Payment.

Payment
Tickets are $89, plus a PurplePass handling fee, when taken at GateWay.
Same fee of $89, plus handling fee, in other locations, unless GateWay needs to rent the computer facility. When renting space, it is $109, plus the PurplePass handling fee.
Payment is due when you purchase your PurplePass ticket.
When you report to take the exam, you must present a copy of your Purplepass email confirmation, in addition to:
Current state or any government driver's license, or photo ID issued on or after January 1, 1997... OR a...
Current passport

NO SHOW POLICY!!!
If you purchase a ticket and DO NOT show up for your test, your ticket WILL NOT be rescheduled. You will lose your ticket. Instead, you must purchase a new ticket for the next test. The only exception to this rule is if you have contacted Maggie prior to the test with your excuse for not showing (or if you contact her quickly within a day after the test, if there was an emergency), and she will reschedule your test. Only Maggie can reschedule your test. Staff at PurplePass CANNOT reschedule. If you need to have your test rescheduled, contact Maggie at operatorcert@gmail.com
