GateWay Community College offers specialized degrees and certificates in water and wastewater treatment and water resources technologies and is a proctoring agency for the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Operator Certification exams. We have been providing operator exam services since 2008 in partnership with ADEQ and ABC Testing, a service of Water Professionals International (WPI/ABC).
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality aims to protect and enhance public health and the environment in Arizona. ADEQ is committed to leading Arizona and the nation in protecting the environment and improving the quality of life for the people of our state.
The ADEQ Certification testing program establishes guidelines to ensure that only certified operators make decisions about process control or system integrity that affects public health. The program establishes minimum standards for certification and recertification of the operators of drinking water and wastewater systems.
