Meshanticut is a culturally diverse nation, made up of a myriad of different cultural experiences. Indigenous people are the majority of the residents of the nation, however this is by no means a monolithic group. As Meshanticut is a coalition of the many tribes of the Rhode Island area, each tribe has maintained its cultural traditions and maintain distinctions within the larger group. In addition to the indigenous community, the initial colonization of indigenous lands by Europeans resulted in some Europeans being left behind after their loss of Metacom's War. Their colonization efforts also brought African people to North America, who stayed in Meshanticut after the removalof Europeans as well. These groups were integrated into the society of Meshanticut, and have some influence over its culture today.
