Have a book read aloud to you

• You can use MyOn or find a book on YouTube.

• Don’t look at the pictures or video

• Just listen to the story

• As you listen, make a movie in your mind of what is happening in the story.

Draw a picture of your movie

Retell the story in your own words.

Include the beginning, middle and end

• Example: This story is about (character) doing _______.

• In the beginning…..

• In the middle…..

• In the end……

Write the story and change the ending

1. Make a list of words that have the ending -ide

• Example: ride, hide, slide

2. Pick 5 words from your list and write a complete sentence for each word.

3. Underline your -ide word.

• Example: I like to ride my bike.
