The office is pleased to have been able to realize its mandated functions and to have contributed largely to the operations of the University as regards admission, enrollment and other related endeavors.
For its admission functions, the OASA successfully conducted the 2022 MSU SASE in MSU-IIT and in various testing centers under its area of responsibility (MSU-IIT) to a total of 5,979 examinees. Then days before 2022 would end, it has also successfully conducted the 2023 MSU SASE information drive in the provinces of Surigao del Sur, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte, Lanao del Norte, and Iligan City. These provinces were subjected to initial information drive campaigns in February 2022.
In its desire to strengthen its admission process, OASA tapped the expertise of Prof. Daisy Lou Polistico and Prof. Johniel Babier to make a study about improving the process and presented the same to the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellors for approval.
Meanwhile, for its enrollment-related activities, the office was able to admit 692 incoming undergraduate and graduate students during the 2nd semester of AY 2021-2022 and 2,840 incoming undergraduate students for the 1st semester of AY 2022-2023. The office also issued ID numbers to 19 exchange students from Indonesia under the Physical Education program of the College of Education.
The OASA has likewise answered to the invitations sent by the Philippine Science HS – Zamboanga Peninsula Region Campus for its College Fair and the Philippine Science HS-CARAGA Region Campus’ Higher Education for its Education Fair by sending high-caliber professors to conduct information campaigns for MSU-IIT’s curricular programs and other academic offerings.
As to its scholarship-related matters, OASA received P71,811,000.00 from the UniFAST FHE for the 1st semester of AY 2021-2022 ( as payment for tuition and other school fees). In connection to this, two personnel attended the CARS meeting on University Unified Scholarship amendment on January 13, 2022 and made sure that the Unified Scholarship Scheme scholars could claim stipend due them. So the scholars were sent emails to facilitate the process.
The office also conducted the UniFAST TES Re-orientation and Recognition Day (for the grantees with Latin Honors on July 28, 2022, had an orientation and awarding of Scholarship Grants to 7 new scholars of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) Educate Fund and processed and facilitated the application for PGPRC scholarship program. With this, OASA helped in the release of LBP Master Cards to UniFAST TES scholars in coordination with LBP Iligan Branch. It also facilitated the PHINMA Scholarship Program meet and greet.
The office also took charge of the tagging of various scholarship status and assisted the Cashiering Division in the inputting of scholarship data.
The OASA also submitted required reports to the offices that need them. So the following were forwarded:

Line Item Budget for Fund 01 & 05 for 2023 WFP to OVCPD;
Updated OASA Citizen’s Charter to OVCAF;
1st quarter accomplishment report for 2022 WFP to OVCPD;
The new version of the 2nd quarter accomplishment report for 2022 WFP to the OVCPD; and
The 3rd quarter accomplishment report for 2022 WFP to OVCPD.
The OASA has likewise supported and given assistance to the other Cost Centers of the Institute, thus it provided assistance to the OVCP-Office of International Affairs about the enrollment procedure for incoming international students; gave data to QUAMS about the number of students who received 100% UniFAST FHE for the AY 2020-2021 and AY 2021-2022 and provided the list of students of the Dept. of Biological Sciences who belong to the RA, CA, and DA (IUSS).
In its participation and attendance to various meetings, some personnel of the office attended the 2022 GAA Budget Allocation for Higher Education, the CARS meeting on University Unified Scholarship, and the Academic Cluster Forum on Financial Matters. It also participated in a public forum on the Search for MSU-IIT Chancellor, in the Orientation on the Guidelines for TES and TDP-TES Administrative Support Cost (ASC) Liquidations as well as the Orientation on the Amended TES & TDP Guidelines of the CHED Central Office.
The office was likewise represented in the Institute Strategic Planning Workshop, meetings with some administration and finance officials and the LBP Manager about the LBP account of various scholars.
The office also sent participants to the ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Briefing, and the ISO Onsite Surveillance Audit Opening meeting, sent personnel in the meeting with OBM about the Assessment for the Status of Senate Requirements and in meetings about University Unified Scholarship Scheme.
Being part of the Academic Affairs cluster of the Institute, OASA participated in the OVCAA Action Planning and Team Building Activities, attended meetings about Trust Funds, the 2023 PPMP Preparation and Procurement Orientation Seminar, and the Consultative Meeting about Customer Service Satisfaction.
It also participated in the Effective Root Cause Analysis Training, the ISO 9001:2015 Orientation (QMS Orientation), the benchmarking activity of OBM in the UniFAST Central Office and the Re-orientation on the revised MSU-IIT SPMS forms.
As regards attendance and participation to Trainings/Seminars/Conferences, two personnel attended the 1st PAGBA Quarterly Seminar and Meeting in Bacolod City. And for camaraderie and for improved office environment and harmonious personnel relationship, the office conducted other mandatory activities like the Action Planning Activities, the 2022 MSU SASE post evaluation and action planning activities and the Post Admission Evaluation.
For its Community Extension Activities, some personnel in cooperation with the Dept. of Extension, FU, ANTEU, and NMPC, participated in the Relief Operations to Typhoon Odette victims in San Francisco, Surigao del Norte.
