The College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy (CEBA) continued to pursue excellence in instruction, research, and extension congruent to the institute’s vision of becoming a research university.
In its commitment to deliver quality programs to its students, the Master in Business Administration (MBA) and the Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) programs of the college were granted the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office last August 15, 2022. Also, with the college’s goal of achieving higher accreditation status, the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) and the Master in Business Administration (MBA) programs underwent the AACCUP Level II Online Accreditation Survey on October 3-7, 2022.
In the recent Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA) held in October 2022, the College garnered a passing rate of 30%, which is above the national passing rate of 25.84%.

Digkilaan: A Community-based Development Project is a 36-month extension project which aims to assist the local government unit in identifying and developing local products to promote and enhance Barangay Digkilaan, Iligan City through asset mapping and rapid rural appraisal. The project also aims to improve the quality of life of the local community through the creation of various financial streams in the form of tourism and agricultural products.
Negostorya: Usaping Negosyo sa Panahon ng Pagbabago is a series of dialogues, forum, and webinars that aim to nurture the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Iligan City. Topics discussed include Writing Financial Statements (April 27, 2022), Proper and Legal Advice of Handling Employees (May 4, 2022), and Negosyo Center and Business Name Registration (May 18, 2022).
Tambayayong: T.A.F. Capacity Building for RAPID Growth is a 51-month extension project which aims to capacitate Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Taxation, Accounting, and Finance (T.A.F.) areas to promote a sustained and inclusive economic growth. In turn, this is seen to encourage full and productive employment and generate decent work for all. This program includes a series of hands-on trainings in the said areas, with the goal of developing an appropriate accounting manual and accounting system for the beneficiaries.
Cities and Municipalities Index (CMCI) of the Department of Trade and Industry Lanao del Norte for the Year 2022 is a survey conducted annually with the assistance of the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) consisting of the public and private sectors as well as academia. The academic partner which is the Department of Economics of the College of Economics, Business and Accountancy of MSU-IIT is tasked to encourage each Local Government Unit of the province of Lanao del Norte to participate in the CMCI survey, assist the LGUs in completing the survey by tracking their progress, and help in data validation to ensure that the submitted data are timely, accurate, and reliable.

For this year, the College of Economics, Business, and Accountancy has acquired new linkage with Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and was able to sustain its partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Iligan and Lanao del Norte, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Institute of Management Accountants, Inc. (IMA), Commission on Audit – Region X, Bureau of Internal Revenue – Revenue District 101 and SyCip, Gorres, Velayo (SGV) & Co.
It has been a joyful year for the college when alumni of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program turnover three (3) television sets and two (2) air conditioning units to the Department of Accountancy on December 18, 2022. The turnover ceremony was attended by the representatives from BS Accountancy Batch Avanza (Class of 2011), Batch Vivo (Class of 2012), and Batch Vistados (Class of 2017), Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Dr. Polaus M. Bari, CEBA Dean, Dr. Maria Rizalia Y. Teves, current students, faculty members, and the pillars of the program, the retired professors; Salvacion Capistrano, Emma Nieva, Milagros Narido, and Daisy Anacleto.
