Upholding its designated roles as Centers of Development (COD) in Electrical, Metallurgical, Ceramic, Civil, and Chemical Engineering and Centers of Excellence (COE) in Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. As of the first semester, COET is home to 2922 undergraduate students and 144 graduate students across its various academic programs.
As mandated by CHED, the College has filed 10 COPC applications for the 6 BET degree programs and the 4 remaining BS degrees in environmental, mining, computer engineering, and industrial automation and mechatronics. AACUP has already made its initial visit to BS IAM and will accredit it during the current academic year.
Regarding the performance of the 2022 licensure board exam, a total of 222 out of 284 first-time takers passed their individual board exams for their course. And in August 2022, Mechanical Engineering received a 100% passing rate on the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam (MELE). In addition, MSU-IIT ranked 2nd top performing school for Electrical Engineering Licensure Exam in April 2022.

Faculty members and students at the college attended several research paper presentations in local, national, and international conferences and published a total of 44 journal articles and 39 of which were Scopus Indexed. The college also has a total of 12 Patent applications out of the research output of both internal and external funded projects. The college has 7 internally and 10 externally funded research projects respectively.
With its continued belief that extension activities serve not only as opportunities to assist the community in society-building, but nurture its academic programs and produce holistically developed graduates, the College conducted a total of 14 extension activities they are as follows:

Strengthening ties with partner universities, COET Microelectronics Laboratory of Department of Electrical Engineering and Technology signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Caraga State University (CSU) and University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines-CDO (USTP-CDO) for establishing Microelectronics “Mirror Laboratory”.
