The Harvey Mudd College's Student Machine Shops ("Shop") are a two-room facility with
CNC and manual mills (x5)
CNC and manual lathes (x8)
Sheet metal working tools (48" power shear, 6" x 90° notcher, turret punch, roll former, 30" finger brake, spot welders)
SawStop table saw
Wood-working 8" jointer, 12"w thickness planar, panel saw, miter saw, (2x) vertical band saws, drill press, setup and cutting tools
ShopBot wood / panel router - 4'x8' capacity
Wood-turning lathes (x3)
Heat treating furnaces (x2)

The Shop is managed by a full-time staff member, and daily staffing with a team of ~50 (five on leadership) and is open to the entirety of the Claremont Consortium. Courses such as E4 and Engineering Clinic make extensive use of the facilities.
A dedicated staff of student Shop Proctors run the daily operations of the shop, including overseeing student projects and ensuring safe operation of machines.
