Wood Lathe

Wood lathes are used for manually manufacturing cylindrically symmetrical parts in a process known as woodturning. The piece is mounted between the centers of the lathe, and the part is rotated at high speeds. Gouges are then used to remove material from the part to reach a desired shape. Make sure you have been trained by Drew or a proctor that knows what they're doing, use the guard cage, and clean up after yourself. This machine makes a lot of chips.
