Horizontal Bandsaw

The horizontal bandsaw is exactly what it says it is. It features a bandsaw that is mounted on a pivot such that the exposed cutting section of the saw slowly moves down, cutting through the material. This saw is relatively simple to operate. The material, usually bar stock or similar shapes, is held in the vice. The saw moves downward to cut the part, cooled by a coolant pump directed at the blade. This saw is best for cutting materials slowly in straight lines. E4 students use this machine to cut off a section of bar stock for their hammer hard face.
