Grade Level Classification
In order to graduate, students must earn 26 credits. Students are classified at the beginning of the school year according to the number of credits they have earned. Students do not "bump up" to the next grade even if they have enough credits unless it should be their current "cohort" or graduation year. The number of credits needed for each grade are listed below.
Freshman 0-5.5 credits
Sophomore 6-11.5 credits
Juniors 12-17.5 credits
Seniors 18 plus credits
Students who do not meet the required number of credits needed for their grade level, will be classified in the grade level based on their number of credits. Students may earn credits through credit recovery during the school year and it will be added to their total number of credits. Students will not be classified in a higher grade level then their cohort unless they are an early grad.
