Editing your recordings in Soundtrap is super easy. Use the tools below to get started.
When you have a recording or music, you have a single long piece of audio. To edit, we need to break that up into chunks that we can move around or delete. To do that, we "split" the audio:
Click the timeline to move the purple marker. Move the purple marker to the portion of the section that you want to remove or move.
In the file menu, go to Edit → Split Region. Now you've made one break.
Move the purple marker to the end of the section that you want to remove or move. Again, go to Edit → Split Region.
Now click on the section to delete it or move it.
Hover over the edge of the clip until your mouse becomes a move icon. Click and drag the edge of the clip to adjust the beginning or the end.
Drag and drop music files from your computer into Soundtrap. You can edit them using steps 1 & 2 above, just like your recordings.
Click on the clip, select Edit → Fade in
Click on the clip, select Edit → Fade out
Click and drag the bubble at the top of the faded triangle to adjust the length of the fade
Recommended to fade in and out all music and most recordings.
