Multitrack view is the editing environment designed for placing multiple audio clips on a timeline to mix them together into a new file. A track is a way of organizing media files. You can think of a track like a folder. Multiple media files can go into each track.
Click “Track 1” to rename it to Host. We like to make a track for each person in the podcast. Rename Track 2 to Interview and Track 3 to Music.

To control whether you can hear a track, you can choose to “mute” or “solo” a track. Muting (M) will make it so that you cannot hear anything on that track. Soloing a track (S) will play only that track, and mute the rest of the tracks. Find the controls for each track next to the track name.
The timeline is the main window in Audition. It allows you to see all of the tracks together, organized in time.
Preview your project by selecting the play button (or the space bar). or “scrub” through by moving the blue playhead.
Zoom using the top scroll bar to zoom in and out of the timeline. Select and drag the edges on each end to enlarge or shrink the size of your timeline.
