Extended Research Program: ERP is a 12 week research program for academically-motivated students interested in biomedical sciences. It places a strong emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills, empowering students to undertake independent projects and contribute to ongoing scientific inquiries. ERP fellows will conduct research under guidance of an established scientists with research track record. Research is conducted in a small focused-group setting for a deeper dive.
Our exceptional team of educators and researchers from elite institutions worldwide such as UCSF, MAYO Clinic, NIH, MD Anderson, University of Leeds, and more. Our mentors are a U.S. Bay Area based group of biomedical career professionals, including research scientists, medical doctors, geneticists, and pharmacologists.
Two-week courses in Cancer Biology, Immunology & Immunotherapy, Genomics Data Science, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, and Virology.
Accelerator Track: designed for academically driven students to introduce them to the rigors of medical science. This program emphasizes on advanced concepts and incorporates recent scientific developments, discoveries, technological advancements in biomedical science, and enables students to delve deeper into the real world applications. Students will undertake guided scientific projects and engage in scientific inquiries.
Students will engage in live- lectures, discussions, quizzes, and guided projects.

Bold Summers Penn Medicine Summer Program
Spend four weeks experiencing the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine intensive summer program designed for high school juniors and seniors interested in medical careers. Modeled after actual first year Penn Med classes, you’ll gain exposure to the basics of medical training including practical experiences, simulations and live demonstrations. Plus, you’ll live the life of a college student on Penn’s campus, located in University City in Philadelphia, PA. Experience dorm life, campus living, attend classes, and make life-long friends!
The Clinical Neuroscience Immersion Experience (CNI-X) at Stanford University is an intensive summer program that generally follows a student’s sophomore, junior, or senior year of high school. Students attend a two-week (10-day) session which provides introductory exposure to fascinating topics in neuroscience, psychiatry and psychology plus an opportunity to complete a collaborative capstone project.
UC Irvine Summer Premed Program
The UCI School of Medicine offers a number of summer programs, specifically designed for high school, undergraduates and postbaccalaureate students.
Interns are provided with work experience that expose them to administrative and supporting careers in health care environments. Interns will not participate in medical treatment or procedures for patients or members during this internship. As a community-serving program focused on increasing diversity in health care careers, we strongly encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities to apply. This opportunity best serves students who have no previous exposure to health care. The experience includes:

Medical Immersion Summer Academy (MISA)
The Medical Immersion Summer & Spring Academy (MISA) was founded in 2012 in Oakland, California by Dr. Freeman, an Emergency Medicine physician at Highland Hospital. MISA works to expose pre-med and pre-health high school students to hands-on clinical experience in a variety of healthcare settings that will provide them with a competitive edge as they begin their own career in health. MISA partners with local health institutions and clinicians in the area to bring this valuable experience to interested high school students.
A Perry Outreach Program is a one-day career exploration for young women in high school who are interested in careers in orthopaedic surgery, engineering or both. Participants in a Perry Outreach Program (aka POP) will complete six hands-on mock surgeries and learn directly from local medical professionals & engineers.
Rosetta Institute of Biomedical Research
We offer a variety of workshops on molecular medicine for high-achieving high school and middle school students interested in pursuing careers in medicine or related fields, such as biomedical research, drug development, pharmacy or nursing. Camps are offered in summer and winter and there are online and in-person options available, including residential camps held at some of the world’s best universities.
Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego Summer Medical Academy
Summer Medical Academy (SMA) is an educational summer program that provides high school-age students with unique and exciting opportunities to explore the world of medical training and practice. SMA is for students who have an interest in healthcare as a career, and to inspire those students to become caring, insightful health professionals in a complex and rapidly changing world. The program utilizes a mixture of lectures /interactive discussions, hands-on skills clinics, group projects, career panels, and team building/networking/self-care activities.
The Stanford CARE AI Summer Program for High School Students is a dynamic two-week in-person experience designed for high school students passionate about improving health outcomes in Asian communities and beyond. Participants will explore critical health topics affecting Asian populations, learn the fundamentals of statistical data analysis, learn to use AI tools, including ChatGPT, to analyze health datasets, and develop essential leadership and teamwork skills.
Stanford Explore Lecture Series
The Stanford Explore Lecture Series is an exploratory series covering the basic fundamentals and current research areas represented by the various research areas of the Stanford School of Medicine (Immunology, Neuroscience, Cardiovascular Medicine, Regenerative and Stem Cell Medicine, Cancer Biology, Bioengineering, Bioinformatics and Genetics). The lectures will be taught by Stanford Faculty, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Registration opens in March.
Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program (SIMR)
The Stanford Institutes of Medicine Summer Research Program (SIMR) is an eight-week program in which high school students with a broad range of experiences, interests and backgrounds are invited to perform basic research with Stanford faculty, postdoctoral fellows, students and researchers on a medically-oriented project. The goals of the program include increasing interest in biological sciences and medicine in high school students and helping students to understand how scientific research is performed. For current 11 & 12 grade students. Very selective.
Stanford Medical Youth Science Program's (SMYSP) Summer Residential Program
The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program is a five-week immersive enrichment program focused on science and medicine that is open to low-income, first-generation high school juniors who live in Northern California. If you are not eligible to apply to SMYSP, we suggest looking into enrichment programs through Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies or other Stanford School of Medicine Programs.
Stanford Medicine Clinical Summer Internship
Interested in becoming a physician, dentist, physical therapist, optometrist, physician assistant, occupational therapist, or a healthcare provider? The Summer Health Institute @ ASU will provide students who have completed their junior year of high school the opportunity to live on the ASU Downtown campus for a week while experiencing a variety of inter-professional health related activities including 3 hours of daily simulation at the ASU Simulation Center as well as the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix campus (suturing, IV’s, intubation, scrubbing, etc.), interactions with members of the health care team, and tours of health care facilities located within the health corridor of Arizona.
