The Youth Interior Design Forum (YIDF) is a workshop open to high school students of any grade level and gives them the opportunity to experience interior design firsthand. The workshop blends tradition and innovation in creative learning, covering areas in applied critical thinking and exploration with materials.

The NYC Fashion Summer Camp allows students interested in fashion the opportunity to get a jumpstart on their career aspirations by determining if this is the direction that they want to pursue. During the tour they might meet a fashion designer in his/her studio, get an in-depth tour of one of the world's most recognized premium lifestyle brands, have a private tour of a premier specialty/department store before it opens to the public or visit a mega fabric store that is actively involved in the latest reality television programs like Project Runway.

embARC is a four week summer design program at UC Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design that brings together high school students from diverse backgrounds to explore architecture, urban design and sustainable city planning through integrated components: an Architecture + Urban Design Studio, a Sustainable City Planning Workshop, a Digital Design Workshop, an Environmental Design Conversation Series and a Community Build project.

This summer, approximately 250 high school students -- makers, designers, DIYers, and original thinkers from all over the Bay Area and beyond will convene on CCA's Oakland campus and engage in an authentic art-college experience, including residing in CCA housing.
You will immerse yourself in a college-level curriculum studying art, architecture, design, and creative writing as you discover what makes the San Francisco Bay Area so ideal.
By completion, you will have strengthened your portfolio, deepened your craft, expanded your knowledge, and grown as an individual -- all while becoming an integral part of a creative community that embraces risk-taking in the pursuit of purposeful work.

The Architecture Department offers an intensive 4-week in-residence workshop designed for high school students considering architecture as a career or developing a design portfolio. The Workshop provides an in-depth view of the career through hands-on experience in studio design exercises, lectures, projects and field trips. Activities cover architectural design and history, computer applications, structural engineering and site planning. Studios and lectures are taught by the faculty of the College of Architecture and Environmental Design. Education and career advising are integral elements of the program.
Participating students live in residence halls where they become familiar with the dynamics of campus life. The program typically runs mid June - mid July, and includes lodging, most meals, field trips and most materials.

The California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) is a rigorous pre-professional training program in the visual and performing arts, creative writing, animation, and film for talented artists of high school age. CSSSA provides a supportive environment in which students hone acquired skills and explore new techniques and ideas for an intense and exciting learning experience. The School was created by the California Legislature, held its first session in 1987 and will conduct its 32nd session in 2018. Its purpose is to provide a training ground for future artists who wish to pursue careers in the arts and entertainment industries in California. The California State Summer School for the Arts is a state agency funded through a unique public-private partnership.
Students apply for the opportunity to study in one of the School’s seven departments. They may receive 3 units of California State University elective credit for successful participation.

The Pre-College Architecture Program is an intensive summer experience for students with a keen interest in architecture.
Over the course of six weeks, students will experience the interdisciplinary field of architecture through the lens of Carnegie Mellon’s School of Architecture (SoA) as well as contemporary practices.
Students will experience the dynamic of architectural education within the studio, supported by integrated coursework in analog drawing, digital media, seminars and workshops. This approach will allow for broader exploration of design issues related to the environment, technology as well as the future of our cities. During the second half of the program, specialized workshops on design portfolio development will be conducted as an introduction to techniques for layout design and content composition. Portfolio reviews with faculty and members of the SoA admissions committee will give students an opportunity to curate their work for college submissions.

Interlochen offers a wide range of musical opportunities for high school musicians and attracts some of the world’s most talented students and teachers. In addition to large-ensemble experiences, Interlochen Arts Camp also offers programs geared toward individual development/enrichment. The one-week instrumental institutes are held the week before multi-week programs start, so students are welcome to attend an institute and then stay on for another program.

Camp participants work with camp faculty on projects in the following design disciplines: architecture, landscape architecture, industrial design, art + design, and graphic design. In addition to studio projects students participate in evening activities aimed at strengthening their critical and creative thinking, deepening their understanding of the design field, and preparing them for college and beyond.
DigiPen Pre-College Program

The program combines college-level coursework in fundamental academic subjects like applied mathematics, computer science, and foundational art with practical production experience in a team environment. Taught by DigiPen faculty level instructors, this extended program provides students with an excellent opportunity to experience what post-secondary education is like. During this month-long college prep technology program, offered at DigiPen’s Redmond, WA, campus, students take on the roles of programmers, designers, artists, music and sound designers, and computer engineers. Students gain invaluable experience as they learn what it takes to be successful professional game or hardware developers while collaborating to bring their creative vision to life.

Hosted in Los Angeles, GRAMMY Camp® is a 5-day nonresidential summer music industry program open to high school students from across the country that are interested in having a career in music. At Oxbow, we don’t do busy craft projects. Our art-immersion program encourages the exploration of each student’s creativity and vision. We provide campers exceptional instruction in the fundamentals of a variety of mediums. Students then have the opportunity to design and create their own projects. Campers benefit from the Oxbow philosophy that there is no limit to what they can create given an environment of high-level instruction, encouragement, and support. Young musicians have the opportunity to work with instructors from San José State University School of Music and Dance as well as renowned musicians from across the country. Campers participate daily in one primary ensemble (choir, band, or orchestra) led by distinguished conductors. Campers also attend sectional rehearsals, participate in a chamber ensemble (small ensemble), and select one or two elective classes to take for the week. Evening concerts and recitals throughout the week round out a full week of stimulating music activity.

Located at DePaul University in Chicago, the Summer High School Training Program is designed for rising 11th and 12th-grade students who want a taste of intensive conservatory theatre training in the heart of Chicago. For three weeks (June 26- July 18, 2021), students will live on campus and study one of six concentrations– acting, comedy arts, directing, design, playwriting, or stage management/theatre technology. Students will be taught by The Theatre School faculty and some of the most exciting theatre professionals in the country.
The Summer High School Training Program is a non-college credit program that prepares students for the college audition and interview process, all while building life-long connections at one of the top theatre conservatories in the nation. Applications are now open and the priority submission deadline is March 1, 2021. In the case that we are unable to run the residential program due to COVID-19, we will transition to a virtual three-week experience.

Provides a wide-range of exposure to an architectural education and the vibrant surroundings of Los Angeles through an exciting two or four weeks at the USC School of Architecture. You will be designing and building in a collaborative studio environment, touring famous landmarks, living on-campus in a residence hall, and working with the School’s distinguished faculty and upper division students. The four-week program offers 3-units of college credit.
